How Much Money Will the State Allocate for Third and Subsequent Children?
Financial support will be provided for the birth of a third and each subsequent child in the family. The relevant draft decision was approved at today’s government meeting.
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, stated that the purpose of adopting the draft is to contribute to the improvement of the demographic situation, specifically to support families planning the birth of third and subsequent children by providing additional guarantees from the state.
The draft proposes to pay financial support of 50,000 drams monthly for each third and subsequent child until the child reaches the age of 6. The provisions of the decision will apply to cases where the child is born from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2026, inclusive,” said the Minister.
Narek Mkrtchyan noted that the government is beginning to implement a program that envisions monthly payments for the third and subsequent child in the family for six years.
“An evaluation of the program's effectiveness is planned for 2025, based on the results of the three-year program. If sufficient results are recorded in improving the demographic situation, this type of support could become a state benefit,” the minister emphasized.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also added that this support program does not affect the one-time childbirth benefit.
