Government Increases Police Rewards Fund
The government has adopted a new decision during its meeting today, December 23, regarding the redistribution of the 2021 state budget, which will add an additional 500 million drams to the Police Rewards Fund, bringing the total to 1.9 billion drams. This will provide police officers with a full one-level 13th salary for ‘quality’ work.
The draft decision states: “As a result of the effective and economical implementation of the current year’s budget of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, the amount of funds saved and redistributed for the purpose of rewards currently stands at approximately 1,890 million drams, which is about 500 million drams less than the monthly fund for police officials’ salary levels.”
The Police of the Republic of Armenia considers it advisable to reward officers for quality work and/or special tasks at the end of the year with one official salary level. For this purpose, it is proposed to additionally allocate 500 million drams to the Police of the Republic of Armenia, keeping in mind that during the current year, according to relevant decisions by the government, 958.2 million drams have been returned to the state budget as a result of effective and economical use of budgetary resources.
