Gegham Manukyan Claims Armen Grigoryan is Lying

“National Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan today made another foolish statement (I use this term intentionally so that the public understands the state of our country's national security) regarding the documentation of a number of facts during a recent press conference with Anna Grigoryan,” wrote Gegham Manukyan, a member of the Armenian Parliament from the “Hayastan” faction, on his Facebook page.

“This concerns the withdrawal of the RA Armed Forces units from the frontline in Syunik in December 2020. He is lying,” Manukyan stated, suggesting a live debate with Grigoryan on the air with host Petros Ghazaryan. “I am waiting for the invitation. The Secretary of the Security Council is a liar. That’s all for now,” added the opposition MP.

In an interview with Public Television in the evening, Armen Grigoryan responded to statements and claims made by opposition MPs that the government signed secret documents with the public and some state institutions, noting that opposition members present known facts as revelations. “We have publicly discussed almost all processes that occurred after November 9, and the Prime Minister has explained why decisions were made to withdraw the troops. The document pertains to something entirely different; I am surprised that the opposition has made a revelation a year later. The document was about how Armenia will continue to use that road until an alternative route is available. The construction of the alternative road was completed in November in Armenia, and Azerbaijan announced that it would set up checkpoints along the Goris-Kapan road. We have discussed this, and it is surprising that the opposition is making revelations about known facts,” said the Secretary of the RA Security Council.
