Extraordinary Incident in Ararat Region: Argument Leads to Car Accident and Gunshots, Injuries Reported
On December 23, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Ararat region. Around 5:15 PM, the Artashat Medical Center reported to the Artashat police department that two individuals had been admitted with diagnoses of "cranial trauma, coma" and "cranial trauma, lacerations to the top of the head."
According to Shamshyan.com, the injured were identified as 47-year-old Rustam Kh. and 28-year-old David Gh., both residents of Aygezard village in the Ararat region.
While doctors were providing necessary medical assistance, which ultimately saved the lives of the injured, officers from the Ararat regional police department and the Artashat police department had initiated urgent operational-investigative measures. They established that earlier that day, around 4:30 PM, a verbal confrontation occurred on Shahumyan Street in Aygezard village due to insults exchanged between 33-year-old Khodeda A., a resident of the same village, and Rustam Kh.
After leaving the scene of the argument, Rustam Kh. collided with a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Arthur A., also a resident of Aygezard village, at the intersection of Pushkin and KOSTAN streets while he was driving a VAZ 21010 with Russian license plates. This incident led to further arguing and mutual physical assaults.
During the altercation, according to preliminary reports, Rustam Kh. aimed his hunting rifle at Arthur A. However, Arthur A. managed to deflect the gun away with his hand, prompting Rustam Kh. to fire a shot. Following this, Arthur A. grabbed the rifle and struck Rustam Kh. on the head with the butt of the gun.
Police later determined that David Gh. had sustained injuries while trying to calm the parties involved.
The Ararat region police apprehended Arthur A. and Khodeda A. and brought them to the Artashat police department. Materials regarding the incident are currently being prepared.
