Details on the Armed Robbery at Grand Candy
Masked individuals entered the premises of the "Grand Candy" factory, accessed the facility, and under the threat of significant violence towards an employee using a metal weapon, took 15,000,000 AMD from the cash register and fled the scene. “A criminal case has been initiated under the first part of the third section of Article 175 of the RA Criminal Code at the Shengavit administrative district investigative division of the Yerevan City Investigative Department. Investigative and procedural actions are being taken to clarify the circumstances of the armed robbery that occurred at the production facility of "Grand Candy" LLC. Preliminary information indicates that on December 22, 2021, during the period from 10:00 PM to 10:30 PM, the suspects, intending to unlawfully appropriate someone else's property, used a makeshift ladder and technical means to climb over the fence of the "Grand Candy" production facility located on Masis Street in Yerevan. After cutting the barbed wire, they unlawfully entered the production area, where, under the threat of violence with a metal weapon, they took 15,000,000 AMD from the cash register and made their escape.
During the investigation, an examination of the crime scene was conducted, revealing one flat-bottomed object, one metal weapon, one makeshift ladder, and a polyethylene bag containing playing cards. A fingerprint examination has been appointed. The security camera footage of the company has been confiscated, and an order has been issued to the investigation body. An investigation is underway,” the statement reads.
