‘Armenia’ and ‘We Have Honor’ Reject Pashinyan’s Proposal for a Closed Meeting
The ‘Armenia’ and ‘We Have Honor’ parliamentary factions have issued a statement announcing that they have received a proposal from Alen Simonyan to hold a closed meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The factions remind that similar closed format meetings with Pashinyan occurred back in October 2020, during the war, and have since been manipulated and distorted by him.
During this period, the authorities have repeatedly proven that they conduct dubious negotiations in secrecy from the public, promoting solely their own anti-national agenda. Any negotiation process in itself is not considered a state or military secret. The closed meeting format is entirely unacceptable regarding issues that relate to the Armenian people, and a statement has already been disseminated concerning such a meeting with Pashinyan.
The opposition factions have stated that they will only participate in meetings under open, equal, and accountable conditions to the public, which has been rejected. Therefore, we reaffirm our position that closed meetings are inappropriate.
