Where is the People’s Voice? You Don't Care About Those Who Voted for the My Step Alliance, Says Grigor Yeritsyan

During the council session, other individuals are allowed to speak at the invitation of the mayor or the council. Mayor Marutyan invited former council member Grigor Yeritsyan to speak. Yeritsyan addressed his former colleagues from the podium with regret, noting that some of his colleagues have agreed to become part of a disgraceful, unfair, anti-democratic process. This does not serve the interests of citizens or even council members.

“The process has been accompanied by various pressures on several council members, which proves that the process is not legitimate. The goal is to get rid of those who do not share the ruling party's position at any cost,” he stated.

Yeritsyan indicated that soon in the hall, injustice will be enshrined in accordance with the letter of the law, the voice of the citizen will be ignored in accordance with the law, and party leadership will take root, against which they have fought.

“Where is the people's voice? Unfortunately, you don't care about the people, about those who voted for the My Step alliance. I regret that step by step this political team has become what it has fought against for so long. We are driving the last nail into the revolution,” he added.

Yeritsyan further noted that when council members approach the voting booth, they will have to answer to their conscience. They should ask themselves if they love Yerevan more or the PPA (Prosperous Party of Armenia), and what is more primary: public or party interest. The former council member mentioned that Marutyan will soon become the first member in Yerevan's history to be removed from office through impeachment.
