During the discussion of the motion to express no confidence in the mayor, Isabella Abgaryan, a member of the Yerevan Council, addressed the 'My Step' faction, stating, "With your initiative to express no confidence in the mayor, you are telling the residents of Yerevan: the decision is not yours, it's the decision of the CC."

She emphasized, "You are not doing a disservice to the mayor and removing him; rather, you are depriving the residents of Yerevan of the opportunity to make decisions." She noted that all surveys indicate that the public has not articulated a demand to remove Hayk Marutyan from office.

"When 'My Step' presented the points that serve as grounds for expressing no confidence in the mayor, the residents did not agree to any of these points; otherwise, the people would have taken to the streets and said, 'Hayk Marutyan, leave, if you're no longer with our heart's Prime Minister.' The residents accepted the news that Marutyan has left the CC quite calmly, that was natural. Reading your statement, the words of the character from 'The Fool's Misfortune' kept spinning in my mind: 'Who are the judges? Today you are the judge, and without presenting the public with any factual evidence, you are attempting to sentence someone to death, this is what you are doing today," said Abgaryan.

She added that the 'My Step' faction in the council is trying to shift all the mistakes of the team onto Hayk Marutyan. "Hayk Marutyan has not deviated from any political path; it is the 'Civil Contract' party that has deviated from the path of 'My Step' by systematically getting rid of the people who were the revolutionary driving force of 'My Step,' risking their lives and lying under cars in the streets. Those people have been replaced by today's 'dumplings' from the tables of Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan, who have stated that they are still CC members. Hayk Marutyan has merely become non-partisan; he has not abandoned the city during difficult times," Abgaryan concluded.
