Khachatour Sukiasyan: I Was Once Offered to Be the Mayor of Yerevan

Khachatour Sukiasyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction, confirmed that he was once offered the position of Mayor of Yerevan.

“Such conversations have occurred in the past, and I said it was still too early to speak about that. Why? Because I said there are people who are currently working,” he stated during a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly, as reported by aysor.am.

When reporters inquired if he would accept such an offer now, Sukiasyan responded, “If such an offer were made now, the question is directed a bit incorrectly. Elections will be held in 2023, and I have no desire to hold a state position, why? Because we have issues related to education in Armenia.”

The deputy emphasized that over the past 30 years in Armenia, those who have worked diligently have been condemned.
