Hagik Marutyan's High Rating Does Not Stem from Good Work, Khajakyan Says
“This day should have come sooner. Back in 2020, when the performances were being discussed, I said that a mayor with such performance should take a piece of paper and write a letter of resignation. The citizens had the impression that everything was normal and that the opposition did not want everything to go well.” This was stated by David Khajakyan, a member of the Yerevan Council from the 'Lus' faction, during the discussion of the proposal to express no confidence in Hagik Marutyan.
Khajakyan agreed that Hagik Marutyan enjoys a high rating among the public and attributed it to the fact that during the post-war period, he stayed out of internal political processes. “Staying away from these processes ultimately ensured a relatively high rating, but I do not believe that good work is behind that rating,” said Khajakyan.
