Defense Minister and Stanislav Zas Meet: What Was Discussed

On December 22, Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with Stanislav Zas, the Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), who arrived in the Republic of Armenia on a working visit. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense's press service.

The interlocutors discussed the key areas of the organization's activities during Armenia's presidency in the CSTO. Suren Papikyan emphasized that the priorities for the Armenian side will include enhancing and improving the effectiveness of the CSTO's activities and addressing issues related to the further development of the CSTO's military component.

The parties highlighted the significance of 2022 in terms of the 30th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the CSTO and confirmed that the planned events for the upcoming year will be carried out more effectively to enhance cooperation among CSTO member states and expand the Organization's international role.
