Snow and Blizzards: The Ministry of Emergency Situations Issues a Warning

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia.

The road from Amberd Fortress to Kear Lake in Aragatsotn Province is currently closed. The road from Zovuni village to Koreans' Gorge is temporarily closed due to the danger of landslides.

The roads from Amasia to Berdashen and Ashotsk to Krasar in Shirak Province are difficult to traverse. The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks equipped with trailers. In Shirak Province, the roads from Vardaghbyur to Bavra and in Aragatsotn Province from Aparan to Aragats have spots of black ice.

Snow is falling in the Shirak region, as well as in the cities of Tashir, Spitak, Vanadzor in Lori Province, Dilijan in Tavush Province, Martuni, Chambarak, Sevan in Gegharkunik Province, the city of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province, and the regions of Aragats in Aragatsotn and Aparan.

There is a blizzard in the village of Ashotsk, Shirak Province.

Regarding Lars: According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
