“It has nothing to do with our territory”: Noravank village head on the capture of Azerbaijanis
For the past two days, there has been a discussion online that the Armenian side has captured two Azerbaijanis near the positions of Sisian in the Syunik region. It is also mentioned that the Azerbaijanis attempted an infiltration, which led to their capture. The Armenian Ministry of Defense has remained silent on this matter.
Avetik Chalabyan, co-founder of the ARAR Foundation, wrote on his Facebook page that the Armenian units carrying out combat duty north of Sisian, in the area of Tghook village, have captured two enemy soldiers who are now in Yerevan. He stated, “This is an important event that indicates that since November 16, our army is beginning to straighten its back and is starting to give a hard counterattack to the enemy. I congratulate our military and express hope and confidence that they will continue to impose their will on any enemy that invades the territory of the Republic of Armenia. We will also do everything possible to support our brave brothers in carrying out their important mission with honor.”
In an interview with 168.am, Slavik Papyan, the head of Noravank village in Syunik province, said that these actions took place far from their community. “It has nothing to do with our territory. That’s all I can say,” the administrative leader noted. Regarding reports of infiltration, the leader of Noravank stated, “We have heard similar discussions as well. Let the Ministry of Defense comment on that.”
It should be noted that a video has emerged online showing the capture of Azerbaijani soldiers.
