Electricity Prices to Increase
On February 1 of next year, the prices for electricity sold to consumers will be revised. This announcement was made by the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia, according to ArmLur.am.
It has become known to the media that as part of the price review process for major electricity production plants and service providers, initiated on September 25, 2021, a financial gap has emerged in the current electricity pricing structure for consumers due to the analysis of all positive and negative factors. Therefore, the Electric Networks of Armenia Company is proposing to revise the prices for electricity sold to consumers.
Additionally, it was recently decided to increase the price of drinking water. Starting January 1, residents will pay 200 drams per cubic meter of drinking water. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had promised back in 2018 that the price of drinking water would not increase until 2024. However, there is still time until 2024, and the water price will rise by 20 drams in just a few days.
