What Can Indicate Infection with the Coronavirus Omicron Strain
Excessive sweating during sleep might indicate an infection with the Omicron strain of the coronavirus, Dr. Amir Khan, a senior lecturer and therapist at the Leeds Medical School of the University of Bradford, shared on ITV's Lorraine.
In addition to standard COVID-19 symptoms such as a dry cough, high fever, and loss of taste and smell, the Omicron variant is characterized by symptoms like a cold, headache, and fatigue, the doctor noted.
He also cited recent statements from doctors in South Africa, who reported that patients infected with the new variant of SARS-CoV-2 have started complaining about night sweats. “It’s the kind of sweating that makes you have to wake up at night to change your bedding,” explained the specialist.
