The Nomination of Kristine Grigoryan for the Position of Human Rights Defender is Under Discussion
The permanent commission on human rights and public affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia is discussing the nomination of Kristine Grigoryan for the position of Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia.
According to Armenpress, the presentation of Kristine Grigoryan's candidacy was made by Vladimir Vardanyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Civil Contract" faction. Vardanyan noted that Grigoryan has nearly 12 years of professional experience, primarily in state institutions.
"We know Kristine Grigoryan's principles regarding human rights protection. She has extensive professional experience, particularly in areas related to the activities of the Ombudsman institution. As Deputy Minister of Justice, she mainly dealt with issues concerning our international cooperation, especially in the coordination of the international legal field related to the fulfillment of Armenia's commitments in the area of human rights. Overall, Kristine Grigoryan's biography shows that she has always been and continues to be an advocate for human rights protection," said Vardanyan.
Kristine Grigoryan currently holds the position of First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.
