My Step Member Grigor Yeritsyan Resigns from Yerevan City Council
Grigor Yeritsyan, a member of the My Step faction in the Yerevan City Council, has decided to resign from his position as a city councilor. Yeritsyan announced his decision on his Facebook page.
"I express my principled disagreement with the initiative of the My Step faction in the council to declare a vote of no confidence against the current mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan," he wrote.
Yeritsyan noted that despite internal disagreements within the team, he has authored several community legislative initiatives over the past three years, contributed to key reforms for the city, and attempted to make the voices of Yerevan residents heard in the decision-making process related to the municipal economy.
He added that he has remained committed to his principles and the values of the 2018 revolution. He expressed gratitude to Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan for his care for the capital, collaborative work, and for showcasing integrity and principledness in the often-foreign landscape of Armenian political culture.
It should be noted that the My Step faction in the Yerevan City Council has initiated the process of declaring a vote of no confidence against Mayor Hayk Marutyan. Preliminary data indicates that they already have 39 signatures. A total of 33 signatures is required to commence the process.
