Armenian Prisoners' Hands Burned with Cigarettes, Ears Cut Off: Anna Melikyan Provides Details

Armenian prisoners have been subjected to violence by Azerbaijanis from the moment of their capture, during transport, and while being held in various locations, including prisons, said Anna Melikyan, a representative of the NGO "Protection of Rights Without Borders," during a discussion held today, as reported by aysor.am.

She mentioned that the captives were chained in damp, cold rooms and subjected to beatings, with no food provided for several days.

"They were forced to say that 'Karabakh is Azerbaijan,' and to insult senior officials of the Republic of Armenia. Those who suffered serious injuries were ordered not to sit or lie down, and those who violated these orders were punished," the NGO representative described the situation.

According to Anna Melikyan, electric shocks were used on Armenian prisoners, their hands were burned with cigarettes, and their ears and fingers were cut off.

"Violence against prisoners was also inflicted by medical personnel," she added.
