Armenia Has Yet to Receive Payments from Azerbaijani AZAL Airline for Flights
The official Yerevan has not yet received payments from the Azerbaijani AZAL airline for its flights over Armenian territory, as reported by the Armenian Civil Aviation Committee in response to a query from Sputnik Armenia.
“According to the terms of the multilateral agreement on the payment for air route service, ratified by the Republic of Armenia, calculations and collections for all transit flights, including transit flights of the aforementioned Azerbaijani AZAL airline, conducted through the airspace of the Republic of Armenia since March 1, 2009, are managed by the central office of the Eurocontrol international company,” the response stated.
According to Appendix 2 of the document “Conditions of Application of Air Traffic Tariffs and Payment Conditions,” the duration of the collection process for aeronautical service payments for flights made during the reporting month is on average about 2.5-3 months.
It is noteworthy that on October 6, “Azerbaijan Airlines” began utilizing Armenian airspace for passenger flights from Baku to Nakhchivan.
