‘You are echoing the words of the Azerbaijani president’: Alexander and Tovmasyan clash

‘You are the chair of the permanent committee on human rights protection. You are echoing the words of the Azerbaijani president, alleging that the returned prisoners are being tortured in Armenia,’ Vahagn Alexander from the ruling party told MP Taguhi Tovmasyan from the ‘I Have Honor’ faction from the parliament podium today.

Tovmasyan responded to Alexander from the hall. Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan intervened to halt the argument, forbidding Tovmasyan from responding from her seat.

‘Ms. Tovmasyan, if there were a championship for lies and slander in the world, your publication would be unbeatable,’ Alexander told Tovmasyan.
