Will the Exam Submission Process Change? The Deputy Minister Asks for Opinions

The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, wrote on her Facebook page: "Dear educators, I ask for your opinion on the following proposals aimed at making the final exams in certain subjects more purposeful and effective.

For instance, the oral exam for the Literature subject should be conducted not through a questionnaire, but as a project work based on pre-assigned and selected topics. This could include analyzing a literary work in conjunction with another work and the historical period it belongs to, among other things.

As for the Natural Sciences exams, they should be conducted based on laboratory experiments, starting with schools that have already established the necessary laboratory conditions. The purpose of this change is to transition from rote learning to analytical project-based work within the framework of new standards. In terms of natural sciences, the goal is to actively utilize laboratories and strengthen the experimental nature of science subjects in schools.

Of course, the second part can only be fully implemented after the laboratory infrastructure is secured, which is one of the government’s targets in the education sector.

If you have suggestions regarding final exams for other subjects, you can also mention those."
