«We haven't been able to pass the 4 km stretch for 2 days»: citizen reports congestion at Bagratashen-Sadakhlo checkpoint

Auroranews has received reports of truck congestion at the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo checkpoint.

“We are in Georgia, at the end of the village of Sadakhlo, about 4 km short of the Armenian checkpoint. We have not been able to pass this 4 km stretch for 2 days now. The border guards from Georgia are complaining as well. They say that our being stuck here is not helpful for them either, as we are causing pollution and disrupting regular traffic,” the citizen stated.

Auroranews contacted the Armenian State Revenue Committee to understand what is happening at the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo border checkpoint and what is causing the truck congestion. In response, the SRC stated that the Bagratashen customs checkpoint operates on a 24-hour basis, and there are no issues of unjustified delays. They added that the flow of vehicles has doubled at the end of the year. The customs service is carrying out customs procedures as per regulations and is doing everything possible to expedite the release of the trucks that have arrived at the border.
