Vaccine Against Aging Developed in Japan
A vaccine against aging has been developed in Japan, which could be used for the treatment of age-related diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease. The information was published by the University of Tsukuba in Japan, and the study has also been featured in the scientific journal Nature Aging.
The scientists' development aims to free the body from aging cells so that individuals no longer fear aging and can avoid certain age-related issues. The vaccine modifies aging cells in such a way that the immune system can detect and remove them.
Experts identified a protein produced in aging cells but not in healthy and active cells. Based on the amino acids of this protein, a vaccine has been created that prompts the body to produce antibodies that specifically bind to aging cells. The immune system then sends leukocytes to eliminate the tagged aging cells.
The scientists have successfully tested the vaccine on experimental mice. It has been found that this treatment could increase lifespan and reduce the signs of age-related diseases.
