Investigative Committee Reveals Details of Former Vanadzor Mayor's Arrest

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has provided details regarding the arrest of the former mayor of Vanadzor, following extensive investigative and procedural actions conducted by the main department for the investigation of particularly important cases.

It has been established that the former mayor misused his official powers, exceeded his official authority, and committed forgery in office. Based on sufficient evidence gathered in the criminal case, he has been charged under Article 309, Part 3; Article 308, Part 2 (two episodes); Article 314, Part 1; and Article 308, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

The prosecuting body has submitted a petition to the court to select arrest as a measure of restraint, which has been granted. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
