I Am Being Pushed Towards Crime... Decision to Detain Ashot-Iron Minasian Has Not Been Provided for 16 Days, Says Mihran Poghosyan

“Statement of voluntary withdrawal from crime: It takes a lot of nerve not to give in to emotions and become a criminal, as there is someone working in the Court of Appeal of the Republic of Armenia who is pushing me to commit an act outlined in Article 137.1 of the RA Criminal Code (causing severe insult)... The decision to detain Ashot-Iron Minasian has not been provided to the defense for 16 days...

Let me remind you that according to Article 3 of the Law on the Detention and Holding of Arrested Persons in Armenia: the basis for keeping a person in places of detention is a court decision made in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code regarding the application of detention as a preventive measure. It is prohibited to accept and hold persons in places of detention or holding without grounds provided for in the first or second parts of this article. I am very curious about what basis the ‘Yerevan-Center’ Penitentiary has for accepting and holding Ashot Minasian...”
