Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Yerevan: 31-Year-Old Driver Hits Pedestrian with Mercedes, Victim Dies on Site

On December 16, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Yerevan. Between 07:30 and 08:00, local resident, 31-year-old Gor Kh., struck an 86-year-old pedestrian, Zhanna M., in the intersection of Gulbenkian and Hrachya Kochar streets while driving his Mercedes.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not attempt to flee the scene. He called for emergency services at 1-03 to assist the injured pedestrian and helped ensure that medical personnel arrived promptly; however, the doctors pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Afterward, the driver reported the incident to the operational control center of the RA Police. He underwent a sobriety test and was found to be sober.
