Black Ice, Closed Roads: Situation in the Republic

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

In the Aragatsotn province, the road from Amberd Fortress to Lake Kary is closed. Due to the risk of rockfalls, the road from Zovuni village to Koreas Gorge is temporarily closed.

There are patches of black ice on the Vardenyats Pass. According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' crisis management center in North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
