A Replacement for Arthur Davtyan is Being Sought: 'Haykakan Jamanak'

According to ‘Haykakan Jamanak’ newspaper, despite the fact that the term of Armenia's Chief Prosecutor Arthur Davtyan ends in September 2022, discussions have already begun within the government about who could be his successor.

Sources in the government have informed that the candidacy of Deputy Director of the NSS Andranik Simonian has been discussed. The reason is that Simonian is not considered a system person in the NSS, similar to the case of former NSS Director Argishti Kyaramyan. Therefore, his transfer does not seem distant.

This situation raises the question of whether the political power will dismiss the Chief Prosecutor before the end of his term or will hasten to find a replacement amid these personnel changes.
