19-Year-Old Steals Friend's Grandfather's Car and Sells It for Nearly $500
On December 14, a 76-year-old citizen reported to the Mush police department that his Volkswagen vehicle had been stolen from the Shchedrin street in Gyumri.
According to the police, criminal investigators acted on operational information and detained a 19-year-old young man on suspicion from Timiryazev street in Gyumri. He confessed that he had previously taken the spare key to his friend's grandfather's car with the intent to steal it. On December 14, taking advantage of the owner's absence, he stole the Volkswagen and headed to Yerevan with the intention of selling it. He sold the car for $400 and 50,000 AMD.
During a search, $400 and 13,000 AMD were found in the young man's pocket. As a result of the investigative actions, on December 15, the Volkswagen was discovered in the yard of one of the houses on the second street of the Silikian district in Yerevan and was transferred to the special storage area of the Mush police department. The investigation is ongoing.
