Injury to the Head: Son Arrested on Suspicion of Killing His Mother in Syunik

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported numerous details regarding the murder of a 67-year-old woman in Syunik, uncovered through various investigative and procedural actions, as well as urgent measures conducted in collaboration with the police.

As previously reported, on December 13, 2021, at 18:50, a call was received from a citizen regarding the presence of a woman's corpse in an apartment on M. Stepanyan Street in Kapan city. The deceased, who resided at the same address, was discovered lying on her back on the bedroom floor with apparent bodily injuries to the head.

The victim's 42-year-old son has been arrested on suspicion of her murder. Based on a sufficient combination of evidence, charges have been brought against him under Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. He has been remanded in custody as a precautionary measure. An investigation is ongoing.
