If border demarcation is not linked with Artsakh's self-determination, serious dangers threaten its fate: Ohanyan
There are no real conditions for demarcation and delimitation, and if we do not link them with a package for Artsakh's self-determination, serious dangers threaten the fate of Artsakh. This was stated by Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the Armenia parliamentary faction, in a conversation with journalists.
“Demarcation and delimitation imply a peace agreement, imply mutual recognition of territorial integrity, and imply recognition of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, which also places a large stone on the fate of Artsakh,” he said.
According to the former Minister of Defense, no one in Armenia can specify where our borders pass, as the borders of Armenia have undergone significant changes over the years since entering the USSR, and serious studies are needed in the framework of delimitation and demarcation issues.
“The Armenian authorities are making oral arrangements, violating the procedures committed to all legislative points,” he noted, reminding that an order had been given to withdraw troops from the Zangelan and Kubatlu regions.
Seyran Ohanyan also stated that the discussions, announcements, and convening an extraordinary session of the National Assembly regarding delimitation and demarcation were a response to the current situation surrounding Armenia and Artsakh, indicating that we are in a rather complex geopolitical situation.
