Has the Omicron Variant Been Detected in Armenia? The Ministry Provides Clarification

As of December 15, no cases of the coronavirus Omicron variant have been detected in Armenia. In response to an inquiry from Armenpress, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Armenia emphasized that studies for the identification of virus variants are conducted regularly.

The Omicron variant of the coronavirus has reportedly been identified in over 70 countries worldwide. The World Health Organization has expressed concern, noting that the risk of spread is quite high.

The Armenian Ministry of Health prioritizes the vaccination process against the coronavirus. Vaccinations are being carried out in primary health care organizations and through mobile points. Foreign citizens can also get vaccinated here, and vaccinations are free of charge.
