42-Year-Old Man Arrested for Killing His Mother in Kapan

In the course of the criminal case being investigated by the Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, a number of circumstances surrounding the murder of a 67-year-old woman have been clarified as a result of investigative and procedural actions and urgent measures carried out in cooperation with the personnel of the RA Police.

Earlier, it was reported that on December 13, 2021, at 18:50, a call was received from a citizen informing that a woman's body was found in an apartment on M. Stepanyan Street in the city of Kapan.

At the mentioned address, the body of a 67-year-old woman, who was lying on her back on the bedroom floor with visible bodily injuries to the head, was discovered. The victim's 42-year-old son has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her.

Based on the combination of sufficient evidence obtained, charges have been brought against the son under the first part of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code. Pre-trial detention has been selected as a measure of restraint against him. The investigation is ongoing.
