Read the Criminal Procedure Code: Lawyer Responds to Prosecutor's Office

Lawyer Robert Hayrapetyan writes: “In response to the Prosecutor's Office’s artistic diatribe, I will be brief. A person cannot be considered convicted of any crime without a legally binding court verdict. Read the Criminal Procedure Code.”

It is worth noting that the advisor to the Armenian Prosecutor General, Gor Abrahamyan, had responded to another post by the lawyer, stating, “Lawyer Robert Hayrapetyan is engaging in a manipulation of cosmic proportions (if it is not a manifestation of illiteracy) by distorting separate parts of the Prosecutor's Office clarification regarding the discussions surrounding parliamentary immunity as examined in ruling SDO-1619 and subjective manipulations in professional circles, accusing the Prosecutor's Office of illiteracy. If the lawyer had read the text published by the Armenian Prosecutor's Office a bit more carefully, he would probably have understood that in the section he quoted, there is no mention of a convict with a legally binding sentence, but rather someone recognized as guilty by a court decision that has not yet come into force, who, of course, can participate in elections.”
