Citizen Fires at Car, Shoots in Air at Intersection, and Flees
The Investigation Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case under Article 235, Part 1 and Article 258, Part 4 of the RA Criminal Code in the Arabkir administrative district investigation department of the Yerevan city investigation division. This case involves the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident on V. Davtyan Street in Yerevan.
According to preliminary information, on December 11, 2021, at approximately 16:15, an individual suspected of committing the crime grossly violated public order, firing shots from a firearm illegally possessed by him towards a parked "Mercedes-Benz" vehicle on V. Davtyan Street, causing damage to the car. Subsequently, continuing his hooligan actions, he fired shots near a shop on the same street, and then at the intersection of Arabkir 17 and Riga Streets, firing into the air before fleeing the scene.
An examination of the crime scene was carried out, during which 10 fired cartridges of caliber 7.62 mm were discovered and seized, along with 12 bullet marks found on the "Mercedes-Benz". Several witnesses have been interrogated, and forensic examinations have been appointed, including ballistics, trace analysis, and evidential material testing.
As a result of the conducted measures, the identity of the individual suspected of committing the crime has been established; he is a 38-year-old resident of Yerevan, born in 1983. A directive has been issued to the relevant department of the RA Police to take necessary measures to locate the man. The investigation is ongoing.
