What Motivates Muradov's Extended Visit to Armenia
«Hraparak» newspaper writes, «Among the representatives of the Russian demarcation and delimitation committee who arrived in Yerevan the day before, according to our information, were two deputy defense ministers of the Russian Federation. They were welcomed at the ‘Erebuni’ military airport by the former commander of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, who will lead the Russian side's work in this committee. Upon arriving in Yerevan, they headed to Stepanakert to meet with the peacekeeping forces and their command.
Incidentally, according to our sources, the Russian side is concerned about the reports of Azerbaijani violence against the peaceful population in Artsakh, as they understand this could lead to a significant anti-Russian wave. This is what explains Muradov's extended recent visit to Armenia. His presence alone somewhat restrains the Azerbaijani side. According to our information, there has been no meeting with any representative of the Artsakh military-political leadership.
Yesterday, the delegation that arrived from Russia went to Gyumri to the Russian 102nd military base, and today, apparently, they will leave Armenia.»
