Rockfall Danger, Closed Roads: Situation in the Republic

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed highways within the territory of Armenia.

The road from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to Lake Kari is closed. Due to the risk of rockfalls, the road from the village of Zovuni to the Koreans' gorge is temporarily closed.

According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ North Ossetian Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
