I Consider That Azerbaijan Can Become An Observer Country In The EAEU: Nazarbayev
The first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev stated in his speech at the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council that he considers it possible for Azerbaijan to become an observer country in the Eurasian Economic Union, as reported by the EAEU press service.
“I consider it possible to conduct negotiations with the Republic of Azerbaijan so that it also becomes an observer,” Nazarbayev said. He emphasized his heartfelt welcome to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan after years of conflict. “I think we all view it this way,” he added.
Nazarbayev noted that countries that are geographically close, share common traditions and history have no other path but to develop based on mutually beneficial integration. He cited Uzbekistan, which recently became an observer in the EAEU, as an example for Azerbaijan. “In my opinion, the Republic of Uzbekistan has benefited greatly from this,” summarized Nazarbayev.
