Azerbaijan Does Not Rule Out Securing the Corridor by Force: MP

Discussions regarding the so-called 'corridor' are not being addressed in the proper context. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the 'I Have Honor' faction, on his Facebook page.

"The issue is not so much about what efforts the Armenian authorities are making (or not making) to demonstrate their determination to remove the corridor issue from the agenda. The main problem is that Azerbaijan not only continues to insist on this matter, but explicitly states that if it is not resolved diplomatically, it will be carried out militarily. What is the government doing on the external front to neutralize or minimize the likelihood of an attack? In short, nothing. Secondly, what measures are being taken regarding potential directions of enemy attacks to effectively halt those attacks at the right time and place and to strike back if necessary? From a military perspective, calculations of several factors may show that to provide more effective counteraction to the enemy, targeted strikes may be necessary. However, this requires a deep assessment of the available resources. I reiterate, all problems must be viewed in the context that Azerbaijan does not rule out securing the corridor by the use of force, and this becomes more likely in the context of stalled negotiations on the subject," he said.
