Azerbaijan: 44-Day War Participant Attempts Self-Immolation

Yesterday evening, a 20-year-old named Elishab Rustemov attempted self-immolation at one of Azerbaijan's metro stations. This information was reported by the Azerbaijan Postfactum Telegram channel.

The report states that Rustemov was contacted by the emergency service, 102, and informed them of his intention to self-immolate on the bridge at the exit of the Kyuroghlu metro station. The individual seeking to set himself on fire is a participant in the 44-day war and has conducted protests over the past three months, claiming that he has not been compensated and has been abandoned.

Video footage shows that the police intervened to prevent the self-immolation and apprehended Rustemov.
