The Program of the CP Worked Against Itself: Major Cities Lost

The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "With the program of large-scale consolidation of communities and new elections, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was trying to establish absolute power at the local level and appoint his allies as heads of large units, namely communities. However, it can be said that the opposite happened.

After the elections on October 17, November 14, and December 5, the ruling CP lost power in a number of large communities. Specifically, the ruling party no longer governs Kapan, Goris, Meghri, and Tatev in Syunik, the community of Yeghgnadzor in Vayots Dzor, the city of Masis in Ararat, and the situation in Vedi is uncertain.

The authorities failed to capture power in the second and third cities of Armenia, Gyumri and Vanadzor. The CP did not win in Aparan. Furthermore, due to upcoming coalition formations, it is likely that there will also be no CP representatives in Novoberdo, Talin, Yeghvard, Nor Hajn, Akhuryan, Amasia, and Vardenis," the newspaper reports.
