Defense Officials Included Non-Serviceman in List of Prisoners and Missing, Received Fund Payments

The Armenian Ministry of Defense's military police have obtained factual data revealing that officials included the information of a civilian, R. A., who was neither a serviceman nor a volunteer, in the list of prisoners and missing persons as of January 2021. This information has been confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

“As a result, severe consequences have arisen; without sufficient grounds, the family members of R.A. have received 2,700,000 AMD from the Servicemen’s Insurance Fund,” the Ministry stated.

In connection with this case, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 376, Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code (Negligent Attitude towards Duty) at the military police of the Ministry of Defense on December 7, 2021.
