VIDEO: Why Were Pashinyan and the Heads of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and National Security Absent from the Urgent Meeting? Rubinyan Responds to Grigoryan

The agenda of the National Assembly includes a pressing discussion on the "Issues of Clarifying the Fate of Prisoners of War, Captives, Missing Persons, and Other Individuals Held" initiated by the "Armenia" parliamentary faction. This was announced today, December 7, in the National Assembly by Anna Grigoryan, a member of the "Armenia" faction.

She addressed the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, stating, "Have you, as the leadership of the National Assembly, ensured that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Defense, and the Director of the National Security Service are present at the meeting? It was our demand for them to be present and respond to our questions." In response, Rubinyan stated, "Ms. Grigoryan, I believe you have a slightly misguided understanding of the relationships between parliamentarians and the relationships between the leadership of the National Assembly and the deputies. The duty of the leadership of the National Assembly is to ensure the normal functioning of the National Assembly's activities, and that is being accomplished. As for who from the government will attend or not attend this discussion, I believe that falls within the realm of your relationship with the government or the appropriateness of the government’s decisions."

Anna Grigoryan urged not to forget that Armenia is a parliamentary country: "You should have done everything to ensure their presence at the meeting." Rubinyan also reminded that there is a question-and-answer session with the government every four-day session, during which questions can be directed to them.
