Relatives of Captured Soldiers Block Roads in Gyumri

Relatives of captured servicemen from Shirak Province have also conducted protests by blocking streets in Gyumri. Arkadi Hovhannisyan, the brother of captive Haikaz Hovhannisyan, told Tert.am that they are outraged and disheartened by the statements made by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, regarding the captives.

"No one has the right to accuse our boys of betrayal; we demand their return and an investigation. How can there be statements suggesting that the captives do not exist or are of no concern? The state is obligated to bring our boys back," he stated.

According to Arkadi Hovhannisyan, the only attempts to negotiate have come from the police, who have sought to reach out to governor Nazeli Baghdasaryan, but to no avail.
