National Assembly Again Becomes a Place of Brawls and Insults, While Azerbaijan Advances Its Politics, Says Former MP of the RPA

Former RPA MP Tatevik Hayrapetyan wrote on her Facebook page: “What should be done in response to Aliyev's threats the following day in the Armenian National Assembly? If guided by state interests, both the opposition and the ruling party would put their heads together and work together with international partners on both open and closed platforms, trying to achieve an appropriate response to curb Baku’s reckless behavior.

However, instead, the National Assembly once again turned into a platform for mutual accusations and reprimands, and even worse, a venue for brawls and insults. This is our illogical reality, and the saddest part is that this is a parliament elected by the votes of the citizens of Armenia.

While they are preoccupied with fights in the National Assembly, Azerbaijan is pushing its political agenda forward, observing the developments in our country that have nothing to do with the challenges and threats facing our state.

Meanwhile, in a parallel reality, the Armenian soldier guards the border, ensuring that Aliyev does not achieve his objectives, because the value of the state is known even in a period of widespread devaluation — sad, but I hope also a transient phase.”
