Residents of Karmir Shuka Hear Strong Explosion, Says Metakse Hakopeyan
Residents of the village of Karmir Shuka in Artsakh heard a strong explosion today. According to Artsakh National Assembly member Metakse Hakopeyan, the explosion occurred only once.
Residents informed the deputy that they heard a loud explosion, but there were no gunshots directed at the village afterward.
"They speculate that perhaps demolition work was carried out by Russian peacekeepers. Such activities often take place, although residents are informed about them," noted Hakopeyan.
Addressing the gunfire directed at the village by the enemy last night, Hakopeyan stated that residents reported the shots were heard from a distance, did not last long, and were likely directed at our positions.
The deputy mentioned that residents were particularly anxious due to the recent prolonged gunfire when the enemy used weapons of various calibers.
"They were very uneasy because when people were gathered, bullets flew over their heads and beside their houses. The residents of Artsakh understand that even in such instances, they are living in their homeland, but some people cannot tolerate the situation and emigrate. On the other hand, there is indifference from the authorities, and there are no actions taken for people to feel protected by the officials," highlighted Hakopeyan.
According to her, the residents of Artsakh feel secure today only in the sense that the army is fulfilling its duties and carrying out all obligations as a guarantor of security. Hakopeyan emphasized that Russian peacekeepers are also fulfilling their functions, which instills confidence in the residents that they can live peacefully.
