New U.S. Sanctions Against Putin's Inner Circle: CNN Reports on 'Radical Limitations' Threatening Russia

The Biden administration is considering new sanctions against Russia. This was reported by RBC, citing sources from CNN.

According to sources from the American television network, the goal of these sanctions is to “deter Russian President Vladimir Putin from invading Ukraine.”

It is noted that the final list of measures has not yet been determined and is still under discussion. They include sanctions against members of Vladimir Putin's close circle, restrictions on Russia's energy companies and banks, as well as sanctions against Russia's sovereign debt.

However, in the most radical, ‘nuclear’ version, as CNN describes it, Russia could be disconnected from the interbank SWIFT system.
