Erebuni Russian Military Base Personnel Begin Night Flights

The young flight crew of the Erebuni Russian military base, part of the Southern Military District located in Armenia, has begun conducting flights during dark hours of the day. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Military District.

It is noted that the crews of the Mi-8MTV-5 transport helicopters and Ka-52 reconnaissance and attack helicopters will practice flight skills with lighting devices turned off and using external identification signals, as well as carrying out take-offs and landings in mountainous terrain and flying in difficult weather conditions, relying on instruments for navigation.

According to the report, during the introductory course, the personnel have mastered various piloting elements, including take-off, hovering, landings, and maneuvers close to the ground, as well as vertical descent, landing, and operations over military airfields. After passing examinations and certifications, the crews have been authorized to perform solo flights.

Specialists from the engineering and technical staff of the unit conduct regular inspections and prepare equipment for flights, as well as carry out routine seasonal maintenance of all aviation equipment at the Russian military base.
