Black Ice, Closed Roads: Situation in the Republic

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The road from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Kari Lake is closed. Due to the risk of landslides, the road from the village of Zovuni to the Koreyan gorge is temporarily closed.

There is black ice in certain areas along the Vanadzor-Tashir road, in the section known as the steppe of Stepanavan, as well as on the Vanadzor-Dilijan and Artik-Alagyaz roads.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Emergency Situations of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
