Municipal Elections Conclude with 42.48% Voter Participation
At 8:00 PM, all polling stations established for the elections closed in accordance with the procedures set forth in the RA Electoral Code, and the counting of votes began. As of 8:00 PM, 42.48% of eligible voters participated in the municipal elections. This information was reported by the Central Electoral Commission.
Out of 1,112,396 eligible voters, 472,528 citizens cast their ballots. The most active participation was noted in the Tumanyan community of the Lori region, where 69.78% of voters participated. The lowest participation was recorded in the city of Armavir, with a turnout of 20.73%.
It is noteworthy that today, proportional elections for local self-government bodies are being conducted in 36 communities across 7 regions of Armenia, including in the communities of Ashtarak and Talin in the Aragatsotn region, in the cities of Masis, Artashat, Ararat, and Vedi in the Ararat region, in the communities of Araks, Vagharshapat, Parakar, Khoy, Metsamor, Armavir, and Baghramyan in the Armavir region, in the cities of Gavar, Sevan, Martuni, and Vardenis in the Gegharkunik region, in the cities of Vanadzor, Spitak, Tumanyan, and Pambak in the Lori region, in the communities of Abovyan, Garni, Tsaghkadzor, Hrazdan, Nairi, and Nor Hachn in the Kotayk region, in the communities of Artik, Amasia, Ashotsk, and Akhuryan in the Shirak region, in the cities of Yeghegnadzor, Jermuk, and Vayk in the Vayots Dzor region, and in the community of Noyemberyan in the Tavush region.
